Up early and hit the road straight away without any breakfast or even a cup of tea. We cruised along the coast state road 98 to Panama City where we found beaches to die for, the sand was so white and soft between your toes, but the sea was a bit cold for the Gulf coast but who cares. We brought some food and sat on the beach for a picnic, fed a bird that had a bad leg but the other birds bullied him and he flew off.
Back in the car and onwards to Pensacola, where again the beaches were incredible but no time to stop as we wanted to make it through Alabama and into Louisiana where we stayed in a hotel in Ocean Springs on the interstate 10
It was here that we realised that we had gone through a time zone change and we had gained an hour.
Up early as we are now so close to New Orleans now.
