Day 4

East Coast Fjords

A long drive ahead of us today, heading up the east coast where the rugged coast line merges with the mountainous fjords. Main traffic on this roads are the sheep and they have right of way.

Heading for Lake Myvatn to spend the night, this is a very volcanic area with lots of craters and lava fields.
Rugged coast East line
Arrived at the lake which we found to be the most expensive place in Iceland but the natural beauty of the place made up for that. Had pasta and cake for dinner as the place we stayed had a kitchen we could use. Very trusting owner we just phoned him up and he told us where to find the key and he would see us in the morning for breakfast. It was a good breakfast and not too bad coffee either.
